Fun Stuff
The 2025 Ryder Cup has a permit to close the south curb lane on Schermerhorn from Bond to Nevins for hospitality activities all day from Wednesday the 24th through Monday the 29th. Not sure, but could be an opportunity to heckle some PGA officials and European golfers at either the Ace Hotel or 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
Janeane Garofalo will be doing stand-up at Eastville Comedy on Friday.
Diasporican Queens will be holding a block party and fashion show on October 4 from noon-4:00pm. Pacific Street will be closed from Bond to Nevins.
French art historian and debut novelist Thomas Schlesser will be discussing his huge-in-Europe book Mona’s Eyes at the Center for Fiction on Wednesday evening.
The BAMKids Film Festival has an open call for short films, regular deadline is October 8.
Due to anticipated rain, the last Storytime in the Park for September will be 11:00am Thursday at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Cumberland (100 North Portland Avenue) instead of the park.

Transit Stuff
The 3 will stop running south of Penn Station at 9:30pm Monday-Thursday.
The Brooklyn-bound 4 won’t be running past Atlantic/Barclays starting at 9:30 all week.
Civic Stuff
Lots of GoFundMe drives are up and running and there are a lot of people looking for new studio/storefront space after the huge warehouse fire in Red Hook.
The Big Dumpster pilot mentioned last week is moving forward in Community District 2. 800-gallon Empire Bins will start out at a few schools in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill this year, and in 2026, all schools and residential buildings with 30+ units in the district will get at least one bin. Buildings with 10-30 residential units will have TBD timeframe to opt-in. Bins are free during the pilot period.
Something to passive aggressively send to your landlord, another Free "Rat Academy" Virtual Training will be held Wedmesday from 1:30–3:30pm.
The Community District Needs Survey deadline has been extended to: October 14.
