The Apple TV show that was filming in the neighborhood a while back has wrapped but still doesn’t have a release date. Expect more of this kind of thing, good and bad.

Go learn about glass and/or buy glass at UrbanGlass on Tuesday
If you need a tailor or a cobbler (you do, that was rhetorical), here’s last year’s great list from Emilia Petrarca’s Shop Rat featuring plenty of nearby (20 minute walk/2 stops) independent shops that are more focused on quality and service than branding and market share. Ahem.
The American Analog Set managed to sneakily sell out two shows at Pioneer Works over the summer without anyone telling me. Performing this week for the first time in about 20 years down in Red Hook.
Civic Stuff
Free Groceries & Meals: If you know anyone in need of free groceries or hot meals, consult this map to find nearby resources. Many of these sites are also currently seeking additional volunteers.
Council Member Lincoln Restler is hosting a Trash Containerization Info Session tonight at 7pm on zoom. Learn about the Fall 2026 phase of the BKCD2 Empire Bin Pilot, a bold experiment arriving a mere 141 years after Paris decided “just huck it in the street” wasn’t sustainable.
Atlantic Yards Redevelopment Project - Public Workshop #1 is on Tuesday from 6-8 at 140 Flatbush. What ever happened with those fines anyway?
The General Meeting of the local Community Board is Wednesday, 6:00 PM at St. Francis College on Livingston. It will be interesting to see how the Community Boards & Borough Presidents manage the land use review process in the wake of ballot measures 2,3, and 4 passing. It is worth noting that the arcane calculations that define “affordable housing” in New York remain unchanged. Livestream Available.
Transit Stuff
Monday through Wednesday at nights (11:45-5:00am) the 2 and the 4 trains will skip Bergen, Grand Army Plaza, and Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum if you’re headed that direction.

Loving this newsletter so much! Thanks for writing it - the resistor events and cobblers are so great
