Transit Stuff:
The 3 won’t run between 34th Street-Penn Station and New Lots
from Monday through Thursday after 9:30 PM.
No 4 train between Atlantic-Barclays and Crown Heights-Utica/New Lots after 9:30pm all week.
The late night R runs express between Barclays and 36th Street, Monday to Friday, 11:45 PM to 5:00 AM.
Fun Stuff:
Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden fame will be at the Brooklyn Paramount on Wednesday touring on his latest solo album. If enough baby boomers chant long enough, will the encore be Run to the Hills? Probably!
If you like Jersey Club (a subgenre of house/hiphop fusion that I swear I already knew about), Grammy nominated producer DJ. Sliink will be at Public Records on Thursday.
One for the kids, Storytime in the Park will be happening at Fort Greene park Thursday at 11:00.
If you like operas about old people, Celestial Excursions by Robert Ashley is playing at Roulette.
Civic Stuff:
The Department of Housing Preservation & Development is in the application and rezoning stages of a 1.1 million square foot development at 395 Flatbush Avenue Extension (the building above the Dekalb BQR stop with the 7-11 and the McDonald’s). The plan is for 1,263 units including 325 “permanently affordable units.” The building will be 800 feet tall, which would be the second tallest building in the borough after Barad-dûr the Brooklyn Tower.
That parking lot on Nevins and Wycoff is going to be 70 rent-stabilized affordable housing units and a workforce development center.
